This Coming Week in Training

I am not currently in training, specifically.

However I am working towards healing my injury and building up my strength, speed and endurance.

My focus on endurance training is a bit different from what it was before my injury.  My prior strategy was just to hang on for as long as possible.

Now, I focus so much more on form.  When I find my form wavering, I stop.  Typically, I will move on to another exercise and then go back and give the prior exercise another attempt.  If I am running, I will take a walking break or stretch.  If I am swimming, I will switch strokes.  If I am doing a physical therapy exercise or other strength training and find that I am losing form before finishing a full set, I will move on to another exercise and then go back and re-attempt the set of the previous exercise.

So, as I said, I am not exactly in training, but I would like to get myself to a point where training for a specific race or other goal will be both realistic and practical.

With that in mind, I am trying to get myself back in to a more consistent routine.

I have been doing some form of exercises 5-6 days per week (sometimes more, sometimes less), but I miss the good old days of tempos on Tuesdays, cross training on Wednesdays, intervals on Thursdays…well, you get the picture.

I often find that when I write out these types of plans they backfire on me.  But this is pretty light and there is room to add or shift as necessary.  With that in mind, here is my very flexible plan for the week:
